Maven Of Savin’ had this to say: Though I think it is important to get great deals for your family and donate to those who need it, I DO NOT BELIEVE IN BEING SELFISH! I realize that some readers had trouble getting cereal at Stop & Shop this week because some couponers had bought 200 boxes “to donate” but still it made it impossible for other shoppers to get in on the deal. I do not think that is the proper way to coupon or donate — THAT IS MY OPINION ONLY. If you are going to buy that much, you need to work with store management to get a special order!

The Budget Mommy had this to say: I made Penny Experiment trip number 4 yesterday, and I got paid again! With the coupons I had to use, I was going to end up being paid $7.50. I decided I didn’t want to get quite that much back because I don’t want them to change their policy! So I added some items I didn’t have coupons for, and somehow miscalculated and ended up paying $.35. So after I finished my purchase, I went to customer service and returned one of the items.

Mommies With Cents had this to say: After a C-R-A-Z-Y stressful and not so great week, it felt good to make my first drop off to our local food bank for the Penny Experiment. I found out some great information- they accept all types of food and have plenty of storage for frozen and refrigerated products which will make stretching my coupon purchases a lot further. They also have drop off times throughout the week which will make it a lot easier to make deliveries.

Palmetto State Saver had this to say: I am 100% positive that without coupons, we would never be able to donate this much for our community. People from all walks of life may, at one time or another, need the help of their local food bank to make ends meet. The elderly are on a fixed income – one extra trip to the doctor’s office may mean that there isn’t enough money for groceries. Families with children may be struggling due to the lack of jobs available, and they shouldn’t have to choose between feeding their kids and paying the electric bill! These are the things I talked about with my son and my nephew today on the way to the food bank, and explained how it works.
